Learn to Skate with Totem Skate

Calling all kids of Northwest Sydney – grab your skateboards and roll into FREE Learn to Skate workshops with Totem Skate.
Running on select Saturdays in May, September, October and November 2026, these popular sessions are designed to help kids build confidence, learn new skills and connect with their local skate community – all under the guidance of Totem’s elite coaching team.
Perfect for kids aged 6 years-old and over, the free workshops cater to beginners through to more experienced skaters looking to refine their technique in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Choose the session suited to your ability:

Learn to Skate: a one-hour session covering technical basics with highly skilled coaches.

Mentoring session: designed to help skaters progress, try new skills and level up their confidence.

Newcomer/safety program: ideal for first-timers – start from scratch, learning safety, balance and core skills.
Plus, each participant receives a skate passport, earning stamps for every new skill they learn along the way. A fun and simple way to track progress and build confidence each session.
What to bring: Helmets, skateboards, elbow and knee pads are provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment if preferred.
Bookings are essential and exclusive to the Northwest Sydney community. Due to high demand, sessions book out quickly.

Totem Skate 2026 Launch
Learn to Skate and Design your own Skateboard
Saturday 7 March, 9am to 12.30pm
Kick off the skate season with our Totem Skate launch event – a jam-packed morning of skating, creativity and community fun.
Alongside our regular Learn to Skate workshops, this special event includes extra activities and surprises, welcoming skaters of all abilities – whether it’s your very first time on a board or you’re ready to push your skills further.

Please note: Due to the popularity of this workshop, the Design your own Skateboard workshop has limited spots and requires separate registration. Registrations are limited to one skateboard deck per household. Siblings are welcome to share a deck to ensure fair access for local families.
