Norwest Station Precinct Planning Proposal gets the green light

The Minister for Planning and Public Spaces has approved the Planning Proposal to realise the vision for the Norwest Station Precinct (25 – 31 Brookhollow Avenue, Norwest). This includes changes to the permissible floor space ratios, building heights, minimum lot size and land uses.

Last month, the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment published a notification to agree to the amendment (Amendment 23) to The Hills Shire Local Environmental Plan 2019. View the amendment here.

The approval is an important milestone in creating a thriving business precinct in the established Norwest Business Park. The new business hub will include 52,000m2 of office, retail and short-term accommodation space and support an estimated 2,800 new local jobs.

Landcom expects the site to be released to the market in the first quarter of 2022. Landcom’s future development partner will lodge a development application with The Hills Shire Council to deliver the new business precinct.

Landcom and Sydney Metro will continue to work with industry to develop the remaining land across the Sydney Metro Northwest Places program, which is expected to deliver around 10,000 new homes, and more than 250,000 square metres of retail and commercial space, in the coming years.
