Cherrybrook Announcement of Public Exhibition

Public exhibition of Cherrybrook State Significant Precinct rezoning application

The rezoning application for the Cherrybrook State Significant Precinct, the government owned land adjacent to Cherrybrook Station, is on public exhibition. The exhibition is managed by the Department of Planning and Environment, and is open until 11.59pm, 28 August 2022.

Landcom and Sydney Metro’s vision for the Cherrybrook SSP is for a vibrant and leafy mixed-use community; a welcoming place that provides a range of housing choices, open space for community activity, local retail and business spaces, a community facility and easy access to the metro. To achieve this vision the site needs to be rezoned.

The rezoning application includes:

  • proposed planning controls, including amendments to Hornsby Local Environmental Plan 2013 and a site-specific Development Control Plan (Design Guide)
  • a Reference Scheme to demonstrate what could be achieved if the rezoning application is approved
  • technical reports including an Urban Design Study, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report, Traffic and Transport Assessment, Ecologically Sustainable Development Plan

  • a Consultation Outcomes Summary Report to summarise the feedback received from stakeholders and the community and information about how this feedback shaped the rezoning application.
